Walrus cows teach their calfs to swim by holding them while swimming or swim around them while they dive. The Cows hold them tight when they keep their heads over the water.
I always felt that is a strong symbol for the special relationship between parents and children and wanted to show it in an illustration. This depicts them just below the surface.
